Vermilion, OH – Quaker Steak & Lube® will be opening its 33rd restaurant on March 13, 2009 in Vermilion, OH at 3:00pm. The new restaurant will be located at 5150 Liberty Ave, Vermilion, OH.
Quaker Steak & Lube®, voted “Best Wings USA,” is home to 20 signature chicken wing sauces in addition to a variety of Award-Winning food to include burgers, sandwiches, fresh salads, and a Kids menu. The Atomic sauce is so hot you must sign a release form! “The Lube®” as it’s known, is motor-sports themed and encompasses the most unique décor in the restaurant industry, much like a museum. In addition, The Lube® in Vermilion will feature special fish options daily.
There are many special items on display, including a Yellow Submarine, artifacts from the McGarvey’s restaurant, a USA License Plate Map on the wall, a hanging boat, a mechanical sailor and a spinning motorcycle suspended in the air. There is no wall left undecorated, as there are numerous pictures, memorabilia, and classic car and motorcycle parts that adorn the interior of the entire restaurant.
The Vermilion Quaker Steak & Lube® will seat approximately 200 guests, and features two bars that offer a variety of ice-cold bottled and draft beers as well as other “lubes” and distinctive drinks. Catch any of your favorite sporting events on one of our big screens!
Along with the great food and eye-popping décor, Quaker Steak & Lube® is also available for motorcycle and car club meetings as well as parties and social events. For small or large gatherings, the Vermilion Lube will be ready for you! Call (440) 96-PERCH.
Quaker Steak & Lube® claims a wide and highly loyal base of customers, a demographic that chain executives call “2 to 82”. On any given day, the restaurant will be visited by all demographics, including singles, couples, families, sports enthusiasts, seniors and the young without skewing heavily to any one group. The appeal, outside of the memorabilia, is the food. “It’s the very center of the table stuff,” Gary Meszaros, Co-Founder states. “We serve buckets of Award-Winning wings, buckets of signature appetizers, healthy hamburgers, nice salads, distinctive drinks and kid’s meals.”
Shelley Solomon Prueter, FMP & FSCI, owner of Rave Reviews, LLC., is excited about The Lube comoing to Vermilion.
“I couldn’t be more excited about Quaker Steak, “finding a home” at McGarvey’s and “preserving the culture” for great food and service. To Eddie Solomon, the customer was King! A customer service guru, my dad and his waitresses wrote the book on service that Gary & George (Co-Founders of Quaker Steak & Lube®) use in their training program. As a boater, I can’t wait to be a regular customer and as the daughter of the McGarvey’s era, I couldn’t be more proud of the legacy my dad and grandparents left. This is a tough business. As a business woman and restaurant consultant, I appreciate more than ever the greatness that McGarvey’s achieved as conveyed by the memories that are shared with me on a regular basis. I wish Quaker Steak great success and a long journey. This is a good fit! Those seeking recipes for McGarvey’s famous Sauerkraut Balls can contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org!”
The original Quaker Steak & Lube® was founded in 1974 and was built in an abandoned gas station in Sharon, Pennsylvania as a cook-your-own steak restaurant. After a visit to the Anchor Bar in Buffalo, New York, chicken wings were included in the menu. As the company began to become profitable, a full-size kitchen was added. Today, The Lube® has won over 100 national and international awards for their wings and 20 different wing sauces.
Quaker Steak & Lube®, voted “Best Wings USA”, was recently named Best Family Friendly Dining in the Cleveland market and brought home 1st and 2nd places for chicken wing sauces from the National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, New York. The Lube® also won three Golden Chile Awards (1st place) for its sauces at the Fiery Food Challenge, and recently won for best creative toppings at the National Hamburger Festival for its legendary Lubeburger.
The company began franchising in 1997 and has plans to open eight restaurants in 2009. For more information on Quaker Steak & Lube®, visit www.quakersteakandlube.com.
