Quaker Steak & Lube® welcomes Debra Koenig and John Beckert to their Board of Directors
SHARON, PA. – August 29, 2011 – The Award-Winning national restaurant chain Quaker Steak & Lube® welcomes two new members to the Board of Directors in 2011 – John Beckert, of Highlander Partners, and Debra Koenig of B2A, LLC. These two members join the existing seven members of The Lube®’s Board.
Quaker Steak & Lube® Board Members include President and CEO John Longstreet, Co-Founders Gary Meszaros and George Warren, as well as Mike Stack, Lee Cohn, Raymond Joll and David Strang.
John Beckert, of the Investment Firm Highlander Partners, joined the Board of Directors in early 2011. Prior he was CEO and President of ClubCorp, the world leader in private clubs, with more than 150 golf & country clubs, business clubs, sports clubs and alumni clubs in 25 states with over 350,000 members. This background along with his previous experience as President of Bristol Hotels & Resorts, the largest independent hotel management company in North America, leads to a deep knowledge of food & beverage, hotels and resorts. Beckert’s extensive hospitality background will help mold the future of guest-focused revenue producing practices at Quaker Steak & Lube®.
Debra Koenig, of B2A, LLC, also provides an extensive background, specifically in the food service industry. Koenig was formerly CEO at VICORP Restaurants, Inc, where she oversaw a portfolio of 400+ family-style restaurants and 12,000 employees spread over 25 states. Prior to VISCORP, Koenig held the position of McDonald’s President of the Southeast Division, operating over 2,600 locations in 14 states. Koenig’s contributions will be crucial going forward as Quaker Steak & Lube® continues its national expansion.
