Quaker Steak & Lube® Takes Six Awards at The 2008 Fiery Food Challenge

Sharon, PA – Quaker Steak & Lube® has been recognized with six awards, three being Golden Chile Awards (First Place) by Chile Pepper Magazine in its 2008 Fiery Food Challenge at ZestFest held in Forth Worth, Texas.

The Fiery Food Challenge has more than 80 categories from salsa to apparel and is the longest running and most recognized competition in the zesty food world. Culinary expert judges sample every product through a series of blind tastings and the winners are announced at the awards ceremony during the week of Zestfest presented by Chile Pepper Magazine.

Quaker Steak & Lube® Opens its 25th Restaurant Location

Sharon, PA – Quaker Steak & Lube®, home to “Best Wings USA” and 19 signature chicken wing sauces, recently opened its 25th restaurant in Council Bluffs, Iowa.  The newest addition to The Lube®’s family will be located at 3320 Mid America Drive in Council Bluffs.  The Council Bluffs Lube will feature all the same favorite menu selections as the other Quaker Steak & Lube® locations, along with “All- You-Can-Eat Wings” every Tuesday and our world famous “Bike Nite” every Wednesday!  Kids eat FREE on Thursdays!  Watch for many more exciting events coming to The Lube® all week long including Car Cruise-In events, Family Night, Live Entertainment and much more!   There will ALWAYS be something great going on at The Council Bluffs Lube!

Quaker Steak & Lube® Introduces New Sauce Flavor

(Sharon, PA) – Quaker Steak & Lube®, voted BEST WINGS USA and known for its award-winning sauces, has added a new sauce flavor to its menu.  Thai ‘R’ Cracker is a special proprietary sauce made to The Lube®’s specifications – a distinctive blend of sweet thai flavor with a kick of chili, peppers and garlic.

The Thai ‘R’ Cracker sauce sits at 1850 on The Lube’s Scoville Heat Unit (SHU) – the number of units of water it takes to make a unit of chile pepper lose all traces of heat.

The new sauce goes great on chicken wings, ribs, burgers, as a coating for stir-fry or just for plain dippin’!

Sharon, PA (April 10) - Quaker Steak & Lube®, the Award-Winning automotive-themed restaurant chain, through their partnership with Red Bull Energy Drink, is giving all of their customers an opportunity to visit victory lane through their “Race to the Flag” NASCAR promotion.

Sharon, Pa. – Thirty-five years ago, George “Jig” Warren and Gary Meszaros converted an old Pennsylvania gas station into a miniature motorsports museum and served up their first “Quaker Steak.”  Today, The Lube is America’s number one motorsports-themed casual dining restaurant and even more famous for its award-winning wings.

To thank guests for their loyalty, on Tuesday, April 7, The Lube cranks up a five-month “Buckets of Fun” celebration featuring free food and a chance to win a 1974 Corvette.  Buy any Full or Compact Bucket of Wings or Munch Bucket of Bolts (The Lube’s appetizer sampler) and receive a surprise envelope.  Inside is a free food offer good on a return visit.  Offers range from a free Biker Chick Chopped Salad to a free half-rack of ribs.  Each restaurant will give one guest a year of free wings.  The envelope also includes the entry form for the Corvette, to be given away during a Webcast in August.
