Quaker Steak & Lube® Takes 1st and 2nd Place at National Buffalo Wing Festival

Sharon, PA – On Saturday, September 2, Quaker Steak & Lube® was awarded first and second places at the Fifth Annual National Buffalo Wing Festival in Buffalo, New York for their chicken wing sauces.

Quaker Steak & Lube took first place in the Best Creative Spicy Wing Sauce  Category with their Parmesan Pepper Sauce. The restaurant took second place in the Best Creative Sweet Wing Sauce with their Asian Sesame.

Attended 28 restaurants nation wide, the National Buffalo Wing Festival was held at the Dunn Tire Park in Buffalo. According to Rachel Meszaros, Food and Beverage Assistant for Quaker Steak & Lube and the restaurant’s organizer for the National Buffalo Wing Festival, “It’s an honor to have taken 1st and 2nd place at such a great event. We are extremely proud of these awards, and more so, winning them from the city that made chicken wings famous.”

In addition to Parmesan Pepper and Asian Sesame, Quaker Steak & Lube has 14 otherwing sauces. Those include Atomic, Suicide, Buckeye BBQ, Cajun, Hot, Arizona Ranch, Golden Garlic, Medium, Louisiana Lickers, Mild, Honey Mustard, BBQ and Ranch. The Lube also has two dusted wing spices, Chipotle BBQ and Wasabi Ginger.

Quaker Steak & Lube, voted Best Wings USA, is a family friendly restaurant with a motor-themed atmosphere. Founded in Sharon, PA in 1974, Quaker Steak & Lube houses unique décor, including race cars hanging from the ceilings and motorcycles, Corvettes and gas station memorabilia decorate the walls. The Lube began franchising in 1997 and currently has 22 locations in seven states. Quaker Steak & Lube has plans to expand to over 60 company-owned and franchise locations by the end of 2008.



Quaker Steak & Lube® Breaks Ground on Fourth Company Store

Sharon, PA – On Thursday, March 9, Quaker Steak & Lube broke ground on its fourth company-owned restaurant in Austintown, Ohio. The restaurant will open mid July 2006, employ approximately 200 people and seat 350 people inside with an additional 120 outside. The restaurant will also house two bars indoors along with a patio bar.

“We chose the Austintown location due to the exposure it receives from heavily-traveled Interstate 80,” said Gary Meszaros, COO and Co-Founder of the original Quaker Steak & Lube. The other company-owned restaurants are located in Sharon, PA, Boardman, OH and Valley View, OH.

The Austintown Quaker Steak & Lube is a joint venture between Lube Holdings and Ray Travaglini, Quaker Steak & Lube Board Member and long-time friend. The restaurant will serve the same menu as other Lube’s and will host Tuesday All You Can Eat Wing Nights, Thursday summer Bike Nites as well as many other favorite Lube events.
